Robert Kyr: Paradiso - Albany Records (2019)

“Another choral album - this one an oratorio after Dante's Divine Comedy, written by Robert Kyr.…The final two movements are transcendent, led by baritone Fernando Araujo. The full ensemble plays with the choir, complete with the gentle patter of gongs and percussion. It is worth getting the album for this magical moment.…If you are a fan of baroque and classical oratorios, chances are you will like this. This is a must-buy if you are interested in the Divine Comedy - included in the liner notes is an extensive philosophical essay by the librettist. And texts are included, thank goodness!” (American Record Guide)

David Diamond: Symphony No. 6; Rounds for String Orchestra; Romeo and Juliet - NAXOS Records (2018)

“David Diamond was one of those composers suppressed by the dominance of academic modernism despite his championing by Leonard Bernstein and Serge Koussevitzky, and his Symphony No. 6, written in the early 1950s, here receives its first recording. It’s ironic in that the work was badly reviewed at its premiere, probably because it was too modernistic. Sample the startling contrasts of its first movement, Adagio - Allegro, fortemente mosso, worked out and reconciled in a wholly individual way. It gets an enthusiastic and professional performance here from the Indiana University Philharmonic Orchestra under Arthur Fagen, together with fine engineering, and it’s no surprise that the album has had commercial success in Britain as well as the U.S.“ (AllMusic.com)

Vanderbilt University Wind Symphony: A French Connection - Klavier Records (2015)

“Of the six compositions on A French Connection, four are by French composers while the other two are by American band composers … This recording is played with true professionalism and is one of Klavier’s finest releases.” (BandWorld.org)
